It’s time to get into the wanderlust spirit with so many wonderful new hotels, resorts and lodges popping up all over the world next year. Here’s some newcomers to give you a taste of the most magical places to stay in 2019.
Six Senses Lodges, Bhutan
Six Senses Bhutan is a stunning collection of five boutique lodges that stretch across the happiest country on earth, each with its own character, environment and experiences.
Beginning in the capital, there is Six Senses Thimphu, while in the low-lying valley of Punakham you will uncover Six Senses Punakha. Further towards central Bhutan is the glacial valley of Phobjikha, home to Six Senses Gangtey. Travel further east to the Kingdom’s spiritual centre and you will uncover Six Senses Bumthang in an evergreen pine forest. The fifth and final resort is Six Senses Paro overlooking the Paro Valley.
Each location will have its own Spa & Wellness Centre and immersive local experiences. All five resorts will be open to guests by the first half of 2019. Six Senses Bhutan will offer a two-week journey between all five of its properties.
The Farmstead, South Africa
This gorgeous new lodge at Royal Malewane in Kruger National Park will house its first lucky guests in May 2019 but reservations are already open.
Its elevated position offers amazing views over the canopies of the Greater Kruger National Park while the lodge itself surrounds a watering hole popular with the local wildlife.
The three and a half bedroom private villa will have its own private services including a chef, housekeeper and butler.
Guests will have their own private safari vehicle with a dedicated Ranger and Tracker ensuring the ultimate in luxury. Your large deck will feature a stunning swimming pool flowing out into the bush.
Islas Secas Reserve & Lodge, Panama
Scheduled to make its official debut in January 2019, the Islas Secas Reserve & Lodge will be the star of Panama’s emerging luxury tourism scene.
Located across an archipeligo of 14 private islands, the property’s nine elegant villas will blend in with the lush, natural landscape.
The lodge will also make every effort to be eco-friendly, including using solar power for 100% of its energy, 100% of water used by guests is reclaimed and 100% of food scraps are composted.
The wooden villas dotted across the resort’s main island will offer panoramic sea views, indoor and outdoor showers, expansive decks and plunge pools.
