Treat your senses to a tour of Scandinavia’s towering mountains, crystalline fjords and Viking history on this immersive itinerary. Admire the spires and ramparts of Akershus Castle in Oslo, the humming seaside economy of the Bergen Fish Markets and Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid in Copenhagen. Journey on the Flåm railway through the mountain pass to Myrdal and onwards to Bergen. The delights of the Fjords are front and center on the Lysefjord Cruise, with panoramic views and a close encounter with the iconic, 2000-foot tall, Pulpit Rock. In Denmark, pause for a little local dining in Aalborg where a farm-to-table feast of Danish delicacies is whipped up from locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. Across the Jutland Peninsula on the island of Fyn, the Hans Christian Andersen House tells the story of the famous fairytale writer—charting his life, loves and travels.

  • Day 1 | Welcome to Oslo

    Your adventure begins in Norway's Capital, Oslo. In the evening,

    join your Travel Director and fellow travellers for dinner.

    Day 2 | Cosmopolitan Oslo

    Sightseeing with a Local Expert includes views of Akershus Castle

    and the Royal Palace. Walk around the Opera House and marvel at

    the striking contemporary architecture of the new Bjørvika

    district. Wander through Frogner Park, with its intriguing

    sculptures by Gustav Vigeland. The afternoon is at your leisure to

    continue exploring as you wish. Perhaps join an Optional

    Experience to the most modern ski jump in the world,

    Holmenkollen. Maybe explore City Hall where the Nobel Peace

    Prize Ceremony is held, or walk upon the famous architecture of

    Oslo Opera House.

    Arctic Explorers and the Polar Ship Fram - Step aboard the polar ship Fram, the strongest wooden ship ever built, to experience the life

    exhibitions of this museum, which also houses the Gjøa, the rst ship to navigate the entire Northwest Passage.

    Day 3 | Oslo - Ullensvang

    Journey across the Hardanger Plateau, Europe's greatest

    mountain plateau and the largest national park in the Nordic

    countries, before arriving at your hotel in Ullensvang.

    Day 4 | Ullensvang - Flåm - Bergen

    Travel to the Nærøyfjord for the opportunity to visit Viking Valley

    and cruise this UNESCO-listed fjord on an optional experience.

    After, continue to the coastal city of Bergen by a traditional train of

    the Flåm railway. Journey from the shores of the Aurlandsfjord on

    one of the world's steepest railways through tunnels that spiral in

    and out of the mountainside. And breathe in the fresh mountain

    air while you drink in the views of the rushing waterfalls, glacial

    rivers and verdant scenery. This evening join your Travel Director

    at a local restaurant for dinner.

    Viking Valley & Cruise UNESCO's Nærøyfjord - Immerse yourself in Viking life when you meet the inhabitants of Njardarheim who will

    take you back 1000 years in time. Follow this with a cruise along the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord and experience one of mother nature's

    most impressive creations. Gaze at the breath-taking fjord landscape and spectacular scenery of waterfalls, snow-capped mountains

    and tiny villages that have inspired artists for hundreds of years.

    Day 5 | The Hanseatic port of Bergen

    A Local Expert introduces you to Bergen. The ancient Hanseatic

    port city still largely looks to the sea for its living, as evidenced by

    the picturesque and lively Fish Market, set in a charming location in

    the heart of the city. The market also has stalls selling a colourful

    variety of fruits, vegetables, owers, handicrafts and souvenirs.

    After seeing the 13th century Haakon’s Hall, there will be time to

    explore all that this exciting town has to oer. Perhaps you might

    like to visit the village of Telavåg, before ascending Mount Fløyen

    by the only funicular in Scandinavia.

    Best of Bergen -

    Explore the lost village of Telavåg, a stronghold for the Norwegian resistance during World War II, destroyed when the German army

    discovered the villagers’ support for the resistance ghters. Here, you will taste local Norwegian Svele before journeying back to town

    and taking a funicular railway up the hillside for stunning views of Bergen from the panoramic platform.

    Day 6 | A Coastline Like No Other

    Travel along this incredible coastline and sail across fjords passing

    an abundance of islands. Arrive in Stavanger, one of Norway’s

    oldest cities founded almost 900 years ago. The city has

    continued to evolve with changing times and now is the

    headquarters of the Norwegian oil industry, Stavanger is a fusion

    of old world charm and cosmopolitan air. Cruise the Lysefjord and

    admire the waterfalls and Pulpit Rock overhanging the fjord.

    Day 7 | Lyngdal and Kristiansand

    In Lyngdal, tour the Wild Salmon Centre with a biologist guide,

    learn about protecting salmon populations and the local

    ecosystem. Observe the majestic sh in their own environment,

    via a unique indoor 'staircase' and viewing area. Relax and enjoy the

    scenic drive around the southern cape of Norway. Upon arrival in

    Kristiansand, your orientation walk of the city centre will show you

    the Domkirke and the Nupen Fountain. Savour a delicious dinner

    at a local restaurant.

    Day 8 | Kristiansand to Aalborg

    Say farewell to Norway as you sail across the Skagerrak to

    Hirtshals, Denmark. Your journey continues to Aalborg, Denmark's

    forth largest city. This evening, we will join for dinner in a local

    restaurant.

    Day 9 | Journey to Odense

    A vibrant mix of youthful energy and a blast from the past makes

    Aarhus a city with an energetic pulse. Join your Travel Director for

    an orientation of the city centre. See the City Hall, ARoS Aarhus

    Art Museum - topped with an immense and interactive artwork -

    and Dokk1, the largest public library in Scandinavia. En route to

    Odense, you will stop at Denmark's rst UNESCO World Heritage

    Site in the town of Jelling, visiting the Home of the Viking Kings

    Museum. Then cross the Jutland Peninsula to the town of

    Odense, on the island of Fyn.

    Day 10 | Odense and the Fairytales of Fyn

    Visit Odense with Insight Choice. Choose to visit the Hans

    Christian Andersen House, a museum dedicated to his life and

    works. Learn all about the famous fairytale writer as you follow his

    career, travels and love life. Alternatively, visit St Canute's

    Cathedral and hear tales of Canute, Denmark's rst royal saint.

    Continue to Denmark's vibrant capital city, Copenhagen and later

    discover the enchanting Tivoli Gardens.

    Day 11 | Wonderful Copenhagen

    Meet your Local Expert and pay a visit to Hans Christian

    Andersen's iconic Little Mermaid statue. Later, see

    Christiansborg Palace, Rosenborg Castle, Amalienborg Palace,

    the unusual Round Tower and Copenhagen Cathedral, where the

    Crown Prince of Denmark married Princess Mary. The afternoon is

    North Zealand Castle Tour - With our Local Expert, we'll drive along the scenic coastal road of the Danish Riviera to the castles of North

    Zealand. See Fredensborg, the summer residence of the Royal Family, then visit Fredriksborg, the largest Renaissance palace in

    Scandinavia. It's now a museum, so the tour through the beautiful rooms is an encounter with the kings and queens who shaped the

    country's history. En-route, pass through picturesque villages of half-timbered houses and thatched roofs.

    • Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total tour cost is required to confirm your booking.

    • Final Payment: The balance must be paid in full 90 days before the departure date. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of your booking.

    • Cancellation by Client:

    • More than 90 days before departure: Loss of deposit.

    • 30-90 days before departure: 65% of the total tour cost.

    • Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of the total tour cost.

    • Cancellation by Company: We reserve the right to cancel the tour due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, a full refund will be provided.

    • Changes to Itinerary

    • Flexibility Required: Weather and road conditions may necessitate changes to the planned route and itinerary. Flexibility is essential.

    • Substitutions: We reserve the right to substitute accommodations and services of similar standard when necessary.

    Travel Insurance

    • Mandatory: Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, personal injury, and emergency evacuation is mandatory for all participants.

    • Proof Required: Proof of insurance must be provided before the tour begins.

    • Immediate Reporting: Any complaints should be reported immediately to the tour leader to allow for a timely resolution.

    • Post-Tour Complaints: Complaints must be submitted in writing within 30 days of the tour's conclusion.
